Tuckaway liftgates are the most popular liftgate for truck body applications.  The design allows it to be folded and stored underneath the bed of the truck body.  This is very beneficial for dock loading applications.  Most railgates need to be lowered to the ground before backing up against a dock.  This is not an issue for a tuckaway liftgate due to its hideaway feature.  Anjer sells and repairs liftgates, as well as offering liftgate installation, for Maxon, Waltco, Palfinger, Thieman, Tommy Gate, Anthony, Dhollandia and Leyman.  Most of our customers reside in: Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia, Mercer, Lehigh, Northampton, Delaware, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland, Camden, Burlington, Salem, Cape May, Gloucester, Monmouth, Kent and Sussex Counties.

There are many different tuckaway liftgate models to fit various applications.  Different models require different truck bed heights to work effectively.  It is important for a customer to know his truck body bed height both when the vehicle is loaded and unloaded.  This ensures the proper liftgate can be chosen.  For example, if a customer has a bed height of below 36”, then a special low bed application tuckaway liftgate is needed.

The two main questions a customer will need to answer when purchasing a tuckaway is what is the maximum weight that will go on the liftgate platform and how deep of a platform is needed.  A 3000lb tuckaway liftgate is not designed to lift 3000lb unless that weight is spread evenly over the entire platform, which is not usually the case.  Therefore, it is important to have a little leeway when purchasing the proper capacity so as not to overload and shorten the life span of the liftgate.  Platform depth is equally important to keep the product on the liftgate while it is in use.  A liftgate can usually be chosen with these few questions answered.  Since Anjer represents Maxon, Waltco, Palfinger, Thieman, Tommy Gate, Anthony, Dhollandia and Leyman we have many different models to offer.

There are many different options for tuckaway liftgates, such as an aluminum or steel platform.  Although steel is more popular and inexpensive, aluminum does not corrode as easily and therefore has a longer life span.  Galvanized liftgates are also very popular since they tend to last longer in harsher environments.  A cab cut-off switch located in the cab of the vehicle is an important safety option.  This prevents unauthorized use of the liftgate without direct access to the cab of the truck.  Hand held remotes also enable the operator to use the liftgate more conveniently when loading and unloading the product from the rear of the truck body.

Once a customer describes their application, it is relatively easy for Anjer to choose the proper tuckaway liftgate.  The convenience of the tuckaway model is what makes this style so popular.  Although Anjer sells liftgates, liftgate parts and service all over the country, we can mostly be seen in the following counties:  Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Philadelphia, Mercer, Lehigh, Northampton, Delaware, Ocean, Atlantic, Cumberland, Camden, Burlington, Salem, Cape May, Gloucester, Monmouth, Kent and Sussex Counties.
